It’s been a while since our last newsletter. We have lots coming up in the winter months, and a lot has happened since the end of the season.

Awards Night

Our awards night was held on Saturday 5th October. A massive thanks to everyone that came and thanks to Hugh Griffiths for acting as the guest speaker.

The awards winners were:

Clubman of the year – Darren Bazley

Barnaby Owls Trophy (Event of the year) – Samit Patel Evening

1st XI Player of the year – Mac Cox

2nd XI Player of the year – Olly Hemsley

3rd XI Player of the year – Raj Anumula

4th XI Player of the year – Kev Foot

Under 21 player of the year – Olly Hemsley

Most runs – Mike Askew

Most wickets – Phil Merritt

Fielder of the year – Mike Askew

Highest partnership – Darren Bazley and Harry Standing vs Slinfold

Highest tailenders partnership – Will Kitchen and Raj Anumula vs Pagham

Race Night

We are holding a race night on Saturday 26th October to raise money for the club.

There will be 6 races during the night. We are offering sponsorship of races for just £20. The Sponsors name will appear on the race card and will have shout outs on our social media sites. If you would like to sponsor a race please contact Dan Rive or Jimmy Askew.

The first three races we are selling horses for just £5 a horse. The last three races, the horses will be auctioned off. If you would like to pre-buy a horse in the first three races please contact Dan Rive or Jimmy Askew.

First race will start at 7.30pm. Bar will be open from 6.30pm. Everyone welcome.

Quiz Night

Our winter quiz night is on Friday 29th November. Tickets are £8 and this gets you food from a chippy and entry to the quiz. We will be chasing people’s orders nearer the time.

Tour

Martin Milford is currently arranging a tour to Exeter in August 2020. More details will hopefully be available next week but he needs people to commit ASAP. If you would like to go on the LCC tour then please let Martin Milford know or reply to this email. It’s a great week of cricket, drinking and entertainment.

Clubmark

We are delighted to confirm that following a review, our ECB Clubmark Annual Health Check has been approved and our accreditation status is confirmed for 2019.

100 Club

At the club dinner we held our October 100 Club Superdraw; results as follows:

Indoor Training

Dates for indoor training for the adults and the colts will be announced in the coming days so keep an eye out on our website and social media sites for them.
