Hello Darren, what are the second XI aims for the coming season?

For the clubs sake the 2's need to be fighting for promotion, to stay as close as possible to the 1st team. Also the youngsters need to keep developing and learning their knowledge of the game... how to bat or bowl in difficult situations.

And your personal aims? Finally going to get that league ton?

My aim is to average a minimum of 35 with the bat and to try and finally get that first ton... score a couple of 50s in the t20 competition and hopefully win the league and the t20 comp

Favourite Ground?

Sportsman love batting there

Least Favourite Ground?

Southwick as you genuinely have a chance of getting run over walking to the crease

Best player you’ve played with?

Benn Challen in terms of ability and Stu Stoneham in terms of knowledge of the game

Best player you’ve played against?

Not sure to be honest don't really care about opposition players... I did enjoy batting against Tom Davies though.

Best moment in cricket?

Staying up in the Sussex league (can't remember the year) but for such a young team, it was incredible.

Worst moment in cricket?

Everytime I lose

Why are you called the wasp?

Stu hanks called me the wasp originally because when I had my first proper season breaking into the 2nd XI I used to bat 7/8 and just when the team thought they were into the tail I would end up scoring decent scores and ending up not out.... Stu hanks stated that I was small and annoying like a wasp to the bowlers.

And finally, how do you cook pizza?

You cook pizza by getting it out of the plastic and leaving the polystyrene base on... stick it in the oven for 25 mins and end up with stomach cramps for 3 days
