Weekly Newsletter - 30/04/18

There’s only one place to start this week’s newsletter. The sponsored walk to Hove was yesterday. I am pleased to say that everyone made it to Hove for 11am after setting off from our pavilion at 4.15am. Thank you so much to everyone who walked in aid of LCC and to everyone who donated money to any of the 19 walkers. Its not too late to donate. You can either donate on our go fund me page here, or contact one of the walkers directly. We will announce the figure raised in the next couple weeks once everyone has collected all their sponsor money.

On Saturday we had our first competitive games of the season. The first team were in the Sussex League T20 cup for the first time since 2012. They played division two Chichester in the preliminary round and beat them comfortably by 29 runs. Full scorecard here. Next up were division three Worthing in round one, but unfortunately the first team fell 5 runs short of Worthing’s total. Full scorecard here.

The third team had their first league game of the season, away at Findon. They lost by 83 runs but still managed to pick up a respectable 10 points. Full scorecard here.

The 2nd team game at Horsham 3’s was cancelled due to Horsham’s pitch being unplayable.

Adult training is back to Tuesday this week, 6pm at The Sportsfield.

Sunday friendlies start this weekend with the first game being away at Goodwood. If you are available please let Sunday captain Mike Askew know.
