Weekly Newsletter - 30/08/18

A massive congratulations to the first team who have been crowned champions of Sussex Division 4 West after beating Horsham 2's by 110 runs. Batting first, the first team were in deep trouble at 54-4, however Mac Cox saved the innings and scored 106 not out. Useful contributions from Guy Souch and Nathan Perry saw the first team finish on 262-8. In reply, Horsham were going well at 62-2 until a wonder catch from Nathan Perry broke the partnership. Horsham then collapsed to 152 all out, Chris Heberlein took 3-27. Full scorecard here

The second team travelled to Broadwater 2's. Broadwater posted 179. Ryan Budd, Tim Nicholson, and Theo Hemsley all took 3fers. In reply, the second team chased the total comfortably, Dan Peach top scoring with 40. Full scorecard here.

The third team hosted Worthing 3's at Fernhurst. The third team batted first and struggled to 123-8 off their 40 overs. Geoff Cole carried his bat for 55 not out. In reply, the third team picked up regular wickets until Worthing's 7th wicket partnership saw them home in the 37th over. Full scorecard here

The fourth team hosted Arundel 3's at Amberley. The fourth team batted first and posted 124-5, largely thanks to Sam Pannell's 67. In reply, Arundel chased the target down in 21 overs. Full scorecard here

A massive thanks to all the players that took part in the club tournament on bank holiday Monday. Chris Heberlein's team were the winners after beating Ally James' team in the final. Also a massive thanks to Alan Finneran-Arm who did the BBQ throughout the day. 


This Saturday is the last league weekend of the season. To celebrate, we are having a club breakfast at the Harvester on the seafront. Its a 9am meet and everyone is welcome! Theme of the day is sh*t shirt so pull out those awful looking shirts!

The winner of last Saturdays bonus ball was Mark White with 48.
