After lovely weather for most of the weekend, monsoon conditions yesterday afternoon and this morning has meant that tonight’s training at the Sportsfield is OFF.
The first team recorded their third win of the season on Saturday. Worthing 2’s elected to bowl first at the Manor ground. Tom Lee and Guy Souch put on an opening partnership of 157, Tom Lee scoring 91. This set the innings up nicely for Louis Paul, who hit the ball to all parts of Worthing, finishing on 99* off just 45 balls. The first team finished on 349-5. Worthing were bowled out for 102. Ryan Budd the pick of the bowlers, taking 6-16 off 9 overs, his best figures in a Littlehampton shirt. The win means the first team stay 17 points clear of Broadwater and Horsham. The second team once again had to watch a team block for a draw against them. The second team batted first and scored 226-6. Nathan Cooper scored his first senior 50 and captain Darren Bazley also scored a 50. In reply, Crawley Eagles limped their way to 138-8 off 46 overs. The pick of the bowlers being Dan White and Tim Nicholson. The winning draw leaves the second team in 4th place. Full scorecard here.
The third team picked up their first win of the season. They batted first against Aldwick, and scored 210-6. Geoff Cole scoring 93 and Dheeraj Kumar, made his highest score since joining us, scoring 48. The third team then bowled Aldwick out for 102. Tim Peters took 4-25 and the returning Will Kitchen took 2-10 off 9 overs. The win propelled the third team up to 4th place. Full scorecard here.
The fourth team lost against Pagham but picked up a useful 13 points. Pagham batted first and scored 279-8. Zack Sanderson the pick of the bowlers, taking 5-35, which was his first ever 5fer. In reply, the fourth team picked up maximum batting points, scoring 189. Raj Anumula scoring 74, his highest score since joining us. The defeat leaves the fourth team in 8th place, but they have a game in hand on a lot of the teams above them. Full scorecard here.
The Sunday side won a close game against Walberton. The Sunday side batted first and scored 202-6, Dan Clarke scored 89. In reply, it looked like Walberton were cruising to victory but a Ryan Budd hattrick swung the game into Littlehampton’s hands and the Sunday side won by 9 runs. Full scorecard here.

This Saturday is ‘Players Reunion’ day. We are hosting a number of former Littlehampton players from 2pm. The first team are at home to Henfield, so if you used to play for Littlehampton then you are very welcome to come down. The pavilion bar will be open from 2pm. After the game there will be a BBQ.
The pavilion bar will also be open during our Sunday game against Bognor so come on down and support the Sunday side while having a nice alcoholic beverage.
